Breakthrough in cancer detection

Cancer is a major health problem that can destroy human lives. Cancer has now surpassed heart disease as the leading cause of death in nearly half of the states in America. In the American population as a whole, deaths from heart disease still outnumber deaths from cancer, but that is quickly changing. Nearly half of all Americans can expect to get a dreaded diagnosis of cancer in their lifetime. This is one of the most terrifying and stressful events a person can ever experience.

Regarding conventional treatment of cancer, the statistics are not good. Of the 1,658,370 people newly diagnosed with cancer last year, 589,430 of them have already died. Conventional treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery) can be effective in Stage 1 and 2 cancers, and some Stage 3 cancers, but sadly, very little progress has been made in the treatment of Stage 4 cancers in the past twenty years. Tragically, many people are not diagnosed until Stage 3 or 4.

Most people believe the only way to discover cancer is to wait for a tumor to grow big enough to be seen with a mammogram, X-ray, CT, MRI, or PET scan, or PSA test. This is dead wrong! These tests are NOT early detection. By the time a lump is felt, cancer has likely been growing for up to 10 years. Valuable time is lost waiting for standard tests to detect cancer. The best protection is early detection. The earlier you find cancer, the easier it is to treat.

True early detection is having a way to find cancer at Stage 0 (yes, there is a Stage 0). For example, when the tumor has as few as 2 million cells (the size of a pinhead) compared to the 4.5 trillion cells required for a positive mammogram. With true early detection, physicians have time to intervene early and save lives. With true early detection, natural therapies can be considered which allow the body to heal without the use of toxic drugs and their awful side effects.

Fortunately, cancer detection has come a long way in the last 20 years. There is a revolutionary new blood test available that is so sensitive, it can detect cancer up to 10 years before any lump or symptom appears. It can detect cancer when it is at Stage 0. Not only can this blood test tell you if you have cancer, it can also tell you where in your body the cancer is located. This is a major breakthrough!

Who should have this blood test? Anyone who is unwilling to put their head in the sand, who values their health and longevity, and who has any of the following risk factors for cancer:

  • Any signs or symptoms of potential cancer: Unexplained weight loss, prolonged fever, chronic fatigue, unusual pain (such as a headache that does not go away), change in bowel or bladder function, sores that don’t heal, white patches inside the mouth or white spots on the tongue, unusual bleeding or discharge, lump in the breast or other parts of the body, indigestion or trouble swallowing, recent change in a wart or mole, or nagging cough or hoarseness
  • Suspicious mammogram, X-ray, CT, MRI, or PET scan, or elevated PSA
  • Age: 45 and older
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Exposure to cancer causing substances
  • Chronic inflammation: Elevated CRP or homocysteine
  • Poor diet
  • Hormone therapy: Synthetic or animal-derived (not plant-based bioidentical hormones)
  • Weak immune system
  • Chronic infections: Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B & C, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Epstein -Barr Virus (EBV), Human T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma Virus Type 1 (HTLV-1), Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV8), Merkel Cell Polyomavirus (MCPyV), Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), Schistosoma hematobium, Opisthorchis viverrini, and Lyme Disease
  • Overweight and obesity
  • Radiation exposure: Radon gas, X-rays, CT and PET scans, and ultraviolet light (tanning beds, excess sun exposure)
  • Tobacco use: This includes exposure to second-hand smoke
  • Chronic stress
  • Lack of sleep
  • Lack of exercise
  • Personal history of cancer
  • Family history of cancer
  • Diabetes and pre-diabetes
  • High-blood pressure

The cost for this new blood test is $1350. The price drops to $1100 if both husband and wife do the test. This includes the cost of the test, the blood-draw fee, and an in-depth consultation with Dr. Thomas to review the results and have all of your questions answered. Unfortunately, insurance and Medicare does not cover the cost of the test at this time. However, if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA), the full cost of the test may be reimbursed.

Is the cost of the test worth it? Only you can answer that. Nearly one out of two adults can expect to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their life. Which half do you want to be in? How important is your health and longevity to you? To your family? Certainly, they are worth far more than the cost of this test.

The old saying, “What you don’t know won’t kill you,” doesn’t apply to cancer. Having undetected cancer is like having a ticking time bomb inside your body. It’s best to defuse it and not let it explode. The best way to do this is through early detection. Please don’t pass on this valuable and life-saving blood test.
